The Tribal Administrator oversees all daily operations of the tribal government. This role includes supervising staff, managing programs, ensuring compliance with tribal, state, and federal laws, and carrying out policies established by the Village Council. The Administrator also serves as the primary contact for outside agencies and partners.

ASSISTANT TRIBAL ADMINISTRATOR:

POSITION VACANT

The Assistant Tribal Administrator supports the day-to-day management of the Goodnews Bay Tribal Administration by working closely with the Tribal Administrator and Chief Operations Officer. This role assists with staff coordination, drafting reports, implementing Council directives, and maintaining compliance with applicable policies. By balancing organizational efficiency with a commitment to cultural values, the Assistant Administrator strengthens governance and supports the well-being of the community.

The Cheif Finance Officer (CFO) is responsible for safeguarding the NVGB's financial health. Duties include preparing budgets, managing payroll, handling grant reporting, and ensuring accurate, transparent accounting of tribal resources.

The Transportation Department Director manages safe and reliable transportation services for the community, ensuring residents have access to healthcare, employment, and cultural events. This role oversees scheduling, vehicle maintenance, compliance with regulations, and expansion of services to improve connectivity and accessibility.

In Goodnews Bay, cultural values guide community life, strengthening family bonds and honoring the generations who came before.

The Goodnews Bay Road Crew maintains village roads and access routes to ensure saft travel throughout the community. Their work includes grading gravel roads, managing drainage, and responding to seasonal weather impacts.

Our Village is a place where family, culture, and community come first, and where residents work together to support one another through every season.

The Road Crew helps keep Goodnews Bay connected by maintaining roads that residents rely on every day. Their work supports safe access to homes, community facilityes, and essential services year round.

We are a close knit community where neighbors look out for one another and traditions are honored across generations. 

IGAP COORDINATOR:

The IGAP Coordinator in Goodnews Bay oversees environmental protection and solid waste management efforts for the community. This role includes coordinating landfill operations, managing recycling and hazadous waste activities, conducting environmental education and outreach, and ensuring compliance with EPA and tribal environmental programs. The IGAP Coordinator works closely with tribal leadership, regional partners, and residents to promote a clean, safe, and healthy environment for the village.

The Grant Writer & Administrator secures essential funding for programs and services by researching opportunities, drafting proposals, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements. This role aligns funding strategies with the Tribe’s priorities and long-term goals, opening opportunities that strengthen the community.

MARINE DEBRIS COORDINATOR:

The Marnie Debris Coordinator supports community efforts to protect local waterways, shorelines, and subsistence resources by coordinating marine debris prevention and cleanup activities in and around Goodnews Bay. This position works with community members and partners to organize cleanup efforts, promote environmental stewardship, and ensure safe, effective removal of marine debris while respecting local culture and traditions.
